PASCO sponsors conferences, monthly programs, and workshops allowing for
in-depth development of topics important to human resources professionals.
Programs
Programs are generally held on a monthly basis. They are one to two hours in
length and are held at a local hotel in the morning or afternoon. These
programs address a variety of timely and relevant human resources topics
including legislative updates, recruitment and selection, strategic planning
and performance management, compensation and benefit plans, health and safety
programs, managing organizational transitions, recognition and retention
programs, and work/life issues. The programs offer networking and professional
development, encouraging members to share ideas and discuss topics regarding
human resources issues.
Workshops
PASCO regularly presents in depth workshops on relevant topics. Workshops are
planned and conducted by specialists in the areas being addressed. Previous
topics have included Beyond Writing Policies-Strategies for Employee Handbooks,
Peer Review and 360 Degree Feedback, A Mock EEOC Mediation Workshop, and
Identifying and Meeting the Needs of Your Immigrant Hispanic Employees.
Conferences
Every fall, PASCO hosts the North Bay Employment Law Conference.
Representatives from prestigious law firms, local businesses, community
leaders, educational institutions and a variety of other professional
organizations provide information critical to human resources professionals.
The conference focuses on recent developments in labor and employment law
affecting organizations in increasingly complex and challenging business
environments. Practical strategies, preventive measures, and progressive human
resources policies and procedures are addressed at the conference.
